Art in 3D

Girl Scouting is so much fun. This is Mackenzie and her group at our recent meeting. The girls had a variety of materials they had to use to create a sculpture with both negative and positive space. They also had to name their creation. We don't know which the girls love more, the building or the tear down.

They also made origami bats and clay pumpkins. Next week we will create wire art and carve soap. That ought to be fun to clean up LOL

Maverick in full soccer mode

Here is Maverick in the first game of the season. His love of soccer is so obvious.

Their team is the St. Anthony's Galaxy and they are terrific. Scott and Wayne are the coaches and the boys are already working together, passing and attacking.

Its fun to watch.

St. Agnes Cross City Race

Remington ran the 1 mile. Finished 7th overall with a finish of 6 mins. 23 second. He was third in his age group (9-12). He looked better finishing than he ever has.

He also finally made it to the top of the climbing wall and rang the buzzer. Remington has been in therapy for upper body strength and balance. I think he graduated Sunday. LOL

Maverick ran the 1/2 mile. He finished 10th overall. 2nd in his age group (6-8) and walked, sprinted, walked, sprinted the race. Too funny. He was so casual about the whole thing. Living up to his name.

Science Club

Here are the Experimentors Science Club members at our recent meeting. We studied the Periodic Table, learned the read the Periodic Table, how to decipher compounds, practiced the componets of putting together a science experiment and used our test tubes to create bases, acids and measured the differences.

After the meeting the boys had free reign on the supplies and made incredible citric acid bubbles.

Too Fun!

More Girl Scouts

Here are our annual swim party and sleepover pics. We swim at one house and then walk over to my house to sleep in the backyard. I think we scared the crap out of the kids with stories that were just a bit over the top. They recovered, but Me?......once we go to sleep, the girls are snoring away and I hear 1)the dogs next door growling...2) fire engines at 11:30 3) motorcycles at 2am...4) neighbor's sprinklers hitting the fence for 2 and 1/2 hours and finally 5) girls talking in their sleep saying they are cold.

Note to Parents: Sleeping bags that are ok for sleepovers are NOT Ok for camping.

I get up early and set out donuts and make chocolate chip pancakes, oj and milk. Everyone cleans up and are out the door by 9am. Fun!

This is our latest camp trip with our best family friends, The Ashcrafts. We went to Edison Camp at Shaver lake and had an amazing time. We swam, fished, chipped golf balls up the bank and generally relaxed and played. It was a wonderful trip we hope to repeat in the spring.

First Day of School

I always take this same pic. I dont know which will be worse, the last day M and R will be there or the first day Maverick is alone. We love our school.,

Girl Scouts

Our Junior Troop has been pretty busy this last month. We had a special suite at the Grizzlies Game and we planted flowers in front of the school office. They are so cute.

Science Club

I thought I'd post a pic of the science club and our latest activities. This summer was our test program and I am very happy to say it was a complete success. We've decided to continue 2x a month for the school year.

We've made polymers, radios, exploded mentos and diet coke, went to the mountains to see the meteor showers and had great fun.

This our day of experiments with dry ice. The boys were so excited and I dont think anyone left without satifying their burning desire to touch and burn themselves with the dry ice. its hard to feel sorry when they were warned.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Mackenzie

Mackenzie has fallen in "love" with our friend Renee. She wants to live with her and writes her letters. Renee has horses and is a wonderful person so I am happy Miss. M has someone like to her admire.

Mackenzie bridged to Juniors this year. Can you see her posing?

Eye Q Bowling

Scott's company, EyeQ, sponsors an employee Bowling Day. This year they rented lanes at Sierra Lanes in Fresno.

Here are the three kids with their company bowling shirts on. They did good. All three broke 100 in the ++ side. Not golfing which is the -- side. LOL

I am BACK

What a week, actually a few weeks. Our summer camps are OVER and we will finish the summer with relaxing and enjoying just being home and not having to drive anywhere.

This weekend we are testing the new trailer to make sure we know how everything works. Packing is so much easier since everything goes into the trailer and I only have to open the door rather than set the whole thing up.

Pictures will follow.

Keep visiting.

Remember Our Garden?

Here are the before and after shots of our little garden. The herbs are growing wild, the corn is coming in and we have our first three cucumbers ready to pick. We've had tons of little tomatoes and strawberries. I think the garden didnt get enough water while we were gone because I started watering it twice a day again and viola! things started growing bigger and faster.

New Trailer

http://www.rvtraderonline.com/find/listing/2008-JAYCO-JAY-FEATHER-30U-92443226

check out this link to view some photos of our new trailer. Ours is just a bit different, but you can see that we were desperate to get out of the pop up.

Lucky for us some of our best friends also purchased a trailer (also to replace their pop up camper for the same reasons) and we are going to do some camping together!

We pick up the trailer on Thursday. Woooeee!

New Start

The vacation is over and since I had such a good time sharing I will continue on here.

Not sure what I will do, but something good.
